Four University of Nebraska 2010 Soybean Cyst Management Field Days will be held next month.
The field days are a good opportunity for soybean growers to learn more about this quiet yield-robbing pest. It is considered the No. 1 soybean pest in Nebraska, says John Wilson, UNL Extension educator in Burt County.
Wilson says the 2010 field day schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 17, 3 p.m., Robinson Meadowbrook Farm. From Waterloo go ½- mile west of Hwy. 275 on Maple St. (access Maple St. from Front St.)
Wednesday, Aug. 18, 3 p.m., Jerry Paczosa farm. From Silver Creek go 4 miles east on Hwy. 30, ½ mile north on Monroe Road, ¼ mile west on DD Road.
Monday, Aug. 23, 6:30 p.m., Steve Ruenholl farm. From Cook turnoff go 2 miles north on Hwy. 50, 4 miles east on R Road. From Talmage turnoff go ½ mile north on Hwy. 67, 5 miles west on R Road.
Tuesday, Aug. 24, 6:30 p.m., Mike Bruns farm. From Fairmont, it is on the south edge of town on 5th Ave.
